Total debt ratio is of 55 percent or total debt ratio =55/100=0.55%

Now we know

 the equity equal to =0.55-1=0.45%

Where 1 is assets

Using Debt–Equity ratio and Equity Multiplier formula

Debt–Equity ratio = Total Debt / Total Equity

 

= 0.55% / 0.45% = 1.22 times

 

Equity Multiplier = 1 + Debt-Equity ratio

 

= 1+1.22= 2.22 times

As we know that

EBIT= 1000000

Deduction of Interest from EBIT= 300000

So After Interest EBT will be =700000

After Detections of 30% tax Net income will be =700000-210000=490000/15000000=0.03267

By Applying ROE Formula we can get

ROE = Profit x Total Assets x Equity

ROE=0.03267*2*2.22=14.5%

Ans 1(B)

Of Course management should consider a new plane for increasing ROE as we calculated .
