Spirit Horse

She is galloping towards me once more.
The shaking ground impossible to ignore.

Out of the dark misty night comes this apparition.
I fear that she is here on some perverse mission.

Eddys of chill fog swirling about her silent feet.
Ever closer she comes, the only sound my heartbeat.

In the flowing ebony mane, a single glowing feather.
My only wish to leave this ethereal place altogether.

Suddenly inside a yearning dawns.
Could this creature be of the aeons?

Can she teach me of life and love?
Show me things, as yet unheard of?

A true animal spirit, she shares her insight.
My kindred soul, filled with sudden knowing, takes flight.

A sacred circle has ended and begun.
Animal and human, we walk as one.
