نہ منزلوں کے رہے ہم نہ گھر کے کام کے تھے
وہی سفر کے بھی نکلے جو دن قیام کے تھے

چراغ جلتے تھے الفاظ پھول بنتے تھے
سنا ہے ایسے کرشمے ترے کلام کے تھے

لکیریں کھینچی تھیں کاغذ پہ بے خیالی میں
پڑھا جب ان کو تو سب حرف اس کے نام کے تھے

انہیں کی یاد سے روشن ہے آج کی منزل
جو کل سفر میں مرے دوست چند گام کے تھے

الجھ کے رہ گئے سمتوں کے جال میں ورنہ
کہاں کہاں کے ارادے خیال خام کے تھے

کہاں سے ڈھونڈھ کے لاؤں ہرے بھرے وہ دن
جو میٹھے پانی کے چشمے تھے باغ آم کے تھے
