We are all familiar with 'Eunuch' (Urdu: Khawaja Sra) people. Their positions have deteriorated to be considered as 'socially outcast', 'unwanted people', subjected to mockery, ridicule and derogatory. Are they not human? Even it is impossible to completely end the discrimination against them.

In your point of view what steps government should take in reducing the humiliation against them and promoting their welfare?

  • Give Four Suggestions.
  • Word limit: should be less than 100 words

Read the following instructions before giving your comments on GDB:

  1. Your answer should be relevant to the topic i.e. clear and concise.  Just mention the subtypes and decision taken by whom – no theoretical definitions and explanation are required.
  2. Do not copy or exchange your answer with other students.  Two identical / copied comments will be marked Zero (0) and may damage your grade in the course.
  3. Books, websites and other reading material may be consulted before posting your comments but copying or reproducing the text from books, websites and other reading materials is strictly prohibited. Such comments will be marked as Zero (0).
  4. Obnoxious or ignoble answer should be strictly avoided.

Student's Message:
The government can do the following.
• Government should provide them with opportunities to have jobs. There should be special seats reserved for them so that they would not have to go through humiliating acts as dancing or begging in the streets.
• They should be motivated to receive proper education in schools, colleges etc.
• Electronic and print media should not be encouraged to make fun of them in the name of entertainment.
• Seminars should be arranged to guide the general public not to tease the unich.

People use many shortcuts to judge others like:

·        Selective Perception

·        Contrast Effects

·        Halo Effects

·        Projections

·        Like-me Effect

·        Stereotypes

You are required to identify the Perception Error in each of the following examples of perceptual distortion. Also, briefly provide an argument/ justification in favor of your answer.

Serial No.

General perceptions

Perception Error

Justification

1

Women, generally, do not accept delegation and site visits and thus should not be offered a managerial job.

2

A teacher perceives that his student Ali has a good Intelligent quotient, is very hardworking, passionate, and honest with studies, so he should be graded high.

3

Mr. Ahmed can work under pressure and can meet deadlines at the last moment. He thinks that his colleague and old friend Mr. Asif can also do the same.

4

People who eat lots of food are overweight and unhealthy.

EXCELLENT

Serial No.                      Perception Error                           Justification
1                                        Stereotyping                    It is a perception that all the women dislike visits and delegations, so every woman is perceived to be misfit for managerial job.

2                                         Halo effect                     Ali is judged by his previous record of being intelligent and hard working, so he is rated high by the teacher and awarded high grades without being keen to judge his performance (current) thoroughly.

3                                               Like-me-effect              Because Mr Ahmed is judging others by his own characteristics and he himself being a good worker under pressure, expects that others will also be able to cope with the pressure.

4                                                Stereotyping                 It is perceived that every person who eats lots of food belongs to a group of people who are overweight and healthy whereas there are many people who actually eat a lot but are not overweight. Similarly a no of overweight people may not be over-eaters

Updating our Google Account inactivity policy

Every day Google works hard to keep you and your private information safe and secure by preventing unauthorized access to your Google Account with our built-in security protections. And keeping you safe means having strong privacy practices across our products that minimize how long we store your personal files and any data associated with them. We want to protect your private information and prevent any unauthorized access to your account even if you're no longer using our services. This change starts rolling out today and will apply to any Google Account that's been inactive, meaning it has not been signed into or used within a two-year period. An inactive account and any content in it will be eligible for deletion from December 1, 2023. What this means for you: These changes do not impact you unless you h
