Another paper.................

In my today's paper subjective is easy MCQS is not from past papers (Moaaz File) sirf 2 3 hi thay Moaaz bhai ki file mai sy baqi sb new thay tuff thay
Subjective:
Write Two type of Anomalies?
Write the main Function of Subtype Discriminator?
ik scenrio diya tha us mai sy Entities dhond k mention karni thi
ik mai Diagram thi jis mai Entitiy Student aur us k Attributes {ID, Skill, Name, Fathers Name, Address} thay in mai sy hum ny best candidate for multivalue attribute btana tha
ik mai Student X aur us k attributes diyay thay aur us ki dependencies btana tha k ye BOYCE law mention krti han k nhi aur ye attributes sb candidates key han k nhi Yes OR No mai answer dena tha
ik mai 2 table Customer ka aur Invoice ka diya hua tha jis sy hum ny Resultant Table A nikalna tha Through Realtional somthing formula diya tha k Customer X(EquiJoin)Invoice and EquiJoin = Customer.Customer ID

4 types of anomalies: page 170
Redundancy
insertion anomaly
deletion anomaly
updation anomaly
Subtype discriminator:
This is tool or technique which provides us a methodology to determine that to which suctype one instance of a subtype belongs.
to determine the relation we place an attribute in the entity supertype which can specify through its value, that to which entity subtype it belongs. page 108

Another paper..................

Scenario was given. Draw ERD.
Define domain attributes?
Two name of anomalies?
fall 2012 question. prepare them also.

constraints of foreign nd primary key
Mapping
complete disjoint, partial or overlap rule
Normal form

Scenario was given. Draw cross reference matrix ............5 Marks
Table given Find Equi join.........5marks
Find one to one Relation>>>2marks
Other i don't remember
Friends if you want to get good attempt in Subjective question.....then understand all the concept from lecture 16 to 20.....and mcqs conceptually from 5 to 20
May be i am wrong ....But mostly paper look like this....

Define degree of a relation. 2 marks
Explain difference operation (A-B) between two relations. 3 marks
Anomalies se rewlated tha ek question 3 number ka.
1 relation di gie thi jo k 1st normal form mai thi, usy 2nd normal form me convert krna tha. 5 marks
or ek question ki mujhy khud samjh nhi lagi or wo mery zehan mai b nahi he.

Short Question3 of 2 Marks
Short Question 5 of 2 Marks
1- What is extension and intension
2- What is query evaluation engine
3- How many resultant tables we have, while implementing one-to-one relationship in designing database?
4- What is degree of a relation?
5- Difference between null value and zero value.
6- How does Tuple-oriented relational calculus differ from domain-oriented relational calculus?

Another paper......................

My today paper
1)      Diagram di hoi thi us ko analyze karna tha or foreign key batani thi. 2
2)      Describe the insertion and difference operation    2
3)      2 table tha us ma foreign key batai hoi thi or ya batana tha ka ya default ha ya domain ha 3
4)      2 Table tha us ka resultant find karna tha or ya batana tha ka X U Y = Y U X (yes/no) 5

Another paper.......................

Today's paper...
30% MCQs from past papers and following subjective questions.
1. What is meant by the degree of relation?
2. Identify the given relation is in which normal form. (A table was given for identification).
3. Why do the relational data model is considered as simple?
4. You are required to write the resultant table "Student" from given two tables "Student 2" and "Student 1". if we take set difference of "Student 2" and "Student 1" (Student 2 - student 1). (Two Table were given for set difference)
5. Find out the Cartesian Product of (D X S) of the given pair of sets. Also find out two relations from set (D X S).
D---> Employee-Designation.
S--->Salary.
D={Manager, Officer, Director}
S={12000, 20000, 50000).
6. Find resultant table A for the given relation algebric statement:
Customer X (Equi Join) Invoice.
where Equi Join = Customer.Customer-ID = Invoice.Cust-ID. (Two tables were given for finding the resultant table).
