Respected sir/madam,

Today I read the Announcement in LMS regarding the new fee structure to be implemented from Spring 2011. The announcement says:
Published On:  Friday, February 25, 2011

With effect from spring 2011 all tuition fees will be calculated and collected on "credit hour basis" from students of the University. Following should be noted:

1.       The fee voucher will be generated after the close of "course selection" period;

2.      Student will have the option to pay the fee either through single voucher or in two installments (by using the option from the student services link in the LMS);

3.      No further installments will be made; students are therefore, advised not to send e-mails requesting for more than two installments.


Respected Sir/Madam, 

Our dear Virtual University has the unique style of teaching as well very affordable fee structure due to which fact many students from low income group seek admission in VU. I think the existing system of monthly fee charging is very encouraging and supportive particularly for middle and low income group of our country.

If the new system of fee structure comes into force, there might be some negative consequences like following:

1.  It will be hard for  the students who chose to continue studies from VU to pay fee in one or two installments.

2. The maximum two installments fee payment system will discourage some students and as a result they may quit the studies due to the sudden financial burden.

3.  Some students, besides willingness to continue from VU, will find it very hard to arrange finances/loans

4. It will also result in making the domestic budget to become imbalance and ultimately may affect the whole family unit of the student.

5. If any of the above becomes reality, VU may lose its market share and the good name may become questionable.


In the light of the above I humbly request you that please review the new fee policy as existing fee policy (monthly basis) is very good for all of the students. Even if the new policy is implemented there should be another option of monthly installments.  It will serve as the great favor to the common class of our country.
