With effect from spring 2011 all tuition fees will be calculated and collected on "credit hour basis" from students of the University. Following should be noted:

1. The fee voucher will be generated after the close of "course selection" period;

2. Student will have the option to pay the fee either through single voucher or in two installments (by using the option from the student services link in the LMS);

3. No further installments will be made; students are therefore, advised not to send e-mails requesting for more than two installments.

With this new policy, there will be many students who will suffer. Some will not be able to afford and some may even quit the studies. Present system of payment was good, affordable, manageable and almost no problems for students. I think many even could not afford this one due to which some who approached our management are being sponsored after necessary verification and checking the criteria.

With all above, it is us who can drive the policy on correct line if we all send a mail to VU authorities with detailed feedback. Whether you can afford or not, but a feedback, requesting to maintain status-quo would definitely force the review to reconcile on the policy.

I am receiving several mails on this issue and also SMSs on on cell to request all to do this, so the feedback is given promptly. This will help many students to continue their studies, and also supporting their families. or else they may get to the option of taking loans etc which may imbalance their budget.

This is a call for action in polite and respectable way like educated people should always behave. Do it now yourself and ask all close friends to also do it in order to take the share. I am sure VU has not analyzed its problems that most students will face, due to new policy.
